Our stay in general was good, the staff we encountered were excellent. Feel that a bit of a tidy up to the outside front The property is in a convenient location for the sea front and pier. On this occasion the TV did not work we were told due to connection issues. Did not like having to walk into the hotel with a crowd of people standing on the entrance steps and by the wall smoking who we had to negotiate through. This for us was off putting. This needs to be a no smoking area and a dedicated smoking area away from the entrance.

Stay was good but room was unbarerably hot Room was clean, very large. The room was like being in an oven overnight. Think the hotter summers are going to require some air conditioning in the future. They did bring a fan for when asked, which was appreciated

Hotel was very convenient to the shops and beach. We came for the Airshow so the hotels location was great. Room was ok but toilet was very tight with the holder very close. Toilet was almost impossible to use comfortably

The staff were very nice, professional, courteous, and friendly. They listened to my complaint I had and acted in the best way to solve the issue by upgrading our room to a better, cleaner and much more comfortable room. I really cannot fault their customer service and they should all be recognised for this especially the girls in reception. The location of the hotel was perfect, with the added bonus of a car park to the rear of the property. The sea view was simply perfect. The cleanliness and decor of our first room was quite simply unacceptable. Things remained from the previous quests that should have been cleared away had the room been cleaned properly i would have expected them not to be there. There was quite obviously a problem with damp ot a leak of some sort in the corners of the room which had just been painted over and looked bloody awful. The bathroom looked like it had seen better days, lots of mould, soap scum and build up of dirty limescale on taps and in corners of the shower ect, and the electric radiator had a very dangerous fault that could potentially cause someone harm. I just feel that with attention to detail and some intense cleaning it would make the room more appealing to guest and feel like it is worth the money.
When it comes to flooring, either new carpets or simply a bloody good clean of the existing ones is needed, both in the rooms and in corridors. It is very off putting when you see stains.
The windows are something that desperately needs addressing, i totally appreciate the age of the building, but it doesnt mean that the windows, the frames and the outside decor doesn't have to look like it belongs in a crack den. It just needs some attention by maintenance.
I didn't like the lift, if you suffer from chlostrophobia then you will not want to use the lift it literally will take only 1 suitcase and 2 people standing one in front of the other. It's the tiniest lift in the world, again I appreciate the age of the building but its quite shocking that its never been modernised. There are 2 lifts but for our stay only 1 was working. I used the stairs mostly.
The locks on doors need to be addressed. The locks are keys with a yale lock and no option to double lock the door on the inside for guest security over night.
