Had a very lovely two night stay in a superior double room with sea view. Hotel could do with an update but our room was very clean and comfortable. More than anything, the prices for the stay, for the food in both the restaurant and the bar were very reasonable. The staff are fantastic, friendly, polite and good above and beyond! For a good priced break I would highly recommend.

Great location opposite the pier. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. The bed linen was of good quality with new pillows. This large hotel is looking tired but the staff were extremely helpful and seemed happy in their work. Very large car park at the rear which is well worth £6 per day. Hassle free parking.

Lovely Victorian building with best views of the pier and the sea . Friendly staff and very good breakfast . The room was very clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and the view was stunning . The bar is reasonable and we throughly enjoyed the entertainment . It’s a very friendly place and we have visited three times . It’s a very traditional British hotel .

All in all not a bad stay. Had a good night's sleep. The room was nothing grand but it was clean as were the towels and bedding. There was a fan which we needed. Also a plug in radiator if needed. The only thing I could say negative about the room was, although there were 2 pillows they had better days they were really thin. I went half board the evening meal was quite nice you have a starter mains and a desert. The only issue at the restaurant is the lack of staff, there was only 2 members of staff serving the whole restaurant. The staff on check in were so cheerful and happy. Was nice to be made to feel welcome. To sum up yes the hotel needs updating but then you would be paying a lot more then we did. I reckon this place could be a gem of a hotel if standards were up to date

If you're looking for luxury, this ain't it. However, if you want a comfortable place to stay; good food; and friendly and helpfull staff, then this is the place!
Decor could do with a massive facelift, but, as I said, depends on what you want.
They have a good variety of entertainment almost every night, but I personally didn't partake.
Only other downside appart from decor is that at breakfast, they only do scrambled eggs and don't have mushrooms for the cooked breakfast. Everything else as you would expect. Also, couple of items on the bar menu not up to scratch

Not really expecting great things after checking reviews. First impressions were lovely friendly staff. Yes the hotel is a little neglected, but it was clean enough and didn't smell ( trust me this is not always the case with Eastbourne hotels).
Breakfast was fine, again lovely staff. I'm not really sure what people expect for the price but the view alone is worth the money

We have recently stayed at the Burlington Hotel Eastbourne (12,13,14/07/24). Hotel very very tired and in need of major refurbishment throughout. We reported our shower NOT working on the first evening (Friday). Then again TWICE more only to be told, the shower could not be repaired until the following Monday morning, the day we were leaving. We were not offered to change rooms just told to basically, get on with it.

The rooms are not serviced everyday just the bins are emptied. We weren't told this until we queried it and told it was STILL their policy following covid. Now, if they can replace bin liners and towels. Why can't they fully service the rooms ie make the beds. The basin plug couldn't be removed without having to go behind the pedestal and pulling the level down.

Our room was right behind the TWO lifts (I know it couldn't be helped) but the noise from them went on until early in the morning. Which did impact on us sleeping properly. This means that at least FOUR rooms will be affected.

The restaraunt. To be fair, the food was quite good for what we paid and the staff serving were pleasant. Again the staff in the small bar were again, pleasant and courteous. The only thing about it is. The lack of draft beers (1 lager and 1 cider) compared to the much larger bar next to the entertainment room. This bar is only used when, there is a function on. Which isn't that often tbh. Which to me is just a waste of space. But there you go!!!

I think the reception should be resited to neaer the main entrance and not, stuck away around the corner out of site. At least they could then keep a check on who comes and goes. The hotel does get a lot, of people using walking/mobility aids. The main entrance isn't actually user friendly to these guests as it has steps up to the main door. If, they converted one set of steps to a SLOPE, then they could enter more easily. Also, there is NO disabled or ladies toilets on the ground floor. You have to go down a flight or take a lift to the dark and damp basement. Or go back to your room. The only toilet available for use on the ground floor. Is a gents and NOT the cleanest either. It needs to be monitored.

The only good thing about the hotel is, it's in a great location opposite the pier and a 5 min walk to the town centre with lots of shops, bars restaurants etc.

Will we come back to the Burlington. Then that's a NO. Shame really but there look better hotels close by.
