We had our wedding reception at the Afton on 26th Oct 2013. We had an amazing day and the hotel done us proud with the meal, buffet and disco. Would certainly recommend, as they looked after everything.

Stayed for 4 nights and what a fab place to stay. This hotel is across the road from the pier and 5 minutes away from the town centre. The bus stop is across the road. This hotel is positioned in the right spot.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and tidy. The room was very spacious with t.v. tea,coffee,a good working shower and a very comfortable bed.
All the staff are welcoming and friendly and they go that extra mile to make sure your stay is good.
The breakfasts and evening meals were piping hot and served with a smile.
Would highly recommend this hotel.

Had our wedding reception at the Afton yesterday, i just want to say how brilliant it was. Jason made sure everything went by without a hitch, the food was top notch and a great time was had by all of the guests. I couldn't have asked for more and would really reccommend the venue if anyone needed to hold an event.

Just leaving this hotel bad points first: The chef either needs retraining or replacing, upon arrival our toilet seat was broken and still needs fixing after 3 days that's the bad bits out of the way, Now the good points: good location,okay facilities nice staff Nathan the barman and Gosia housekeeping need special thanks as they did everything possible to make sure our stay went well. Our coach has been delayed by an hour and the hotel put out tea and coffee but CHARGED us for them a word to the management if you want return trade you should have made them complimentary

Dinner. The manager Craig and all his staff could not have done more for us.

The Royal Hippodrome Theatre is in a great location close to the town centre with comfortable seating and a fabulous view of the stage from all locations. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive and happy to answer any questions you may have. There is a bar area serving hot, cold and alcoholic drinks and all areas of the theatre were clean and tidy.
This is a lovely venue to see a show and well worth a visit.
