My wife and I enjoyed a hearty meal at the Crown and Anchor located just one block from the beach with Eastbourne Pier in sight. I ordered Lasagna - delicious, while my wife was more adventuresome and experienced a classic British dish, Bangers and Mash (Sausage and Mashed Potatoes). Total bill including coffee and tea, 26.95 pounds. Recommended for a genuine English Pub experience.

Just out of town a little bit but still one of Eastbourne's hidden gems - reasonably priced, nice food - real ale beers to keep the men happy, sport of televisions but not overpowering - just gave atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon. Would go again.

My partner and I visited for dinner. We have not been here before even though we live locally. Service was great, everyone was friendly. The service was quick and portion sizes are big. The bar became quite busy which is a good sign in my eyes and they are dog friendly which is also a big plus point from me. We will definitely be returning and taking our two fur balls along.

Had dinner here Saturday evening - great pub food - the garlic mushroom starter was fantastic . The mac n cheese was really good. The staff were great - we returned later to see the band that was playing-fabulous night - would definitely return when I am back in Eastbourne

Greene King pub serving good value meals and some good ales - Gangly Ghoul in particular, one I've not seen anywhere else.

Love this pub, we have been going there for a few years now when we stay in Eastbourne. Staff are always friendly and the food is excellent. They do a great deal on a cheese board for two with a bottle of wine for £15, which is very good value. Highly recommend this pub.

Visited twice over a weekend away and can say that both times it was busy but that didnt stop us being able to get a table for a meal. Staff were friendly and our food prompt in arriving.
Would definitely consider this seafront pub again if visiting Eastbourne.

great bustling pub, lovely great food and entertainment.
bar prices a bit on the expensive side example was a pint of kronenbourg and a single vodka and diet coke £8.10 but food prices value for money as portion sizes plentiful

We went here because the restaurant at the hotel where we were staying was so awful and we didn't want to eat there a second evening! We came across this pub whilst out looking for somewhere to go that evening so we decided to pop in for a light snack and if it was any good, we'd return. It was warm and welcoming, very friendly staff and it looked festive with all it's decorations. Our light snack turned out not fo be very light!
My husband had a bacon baguette which was delicious and I had a cheese and ham toastie which sadly I couldn't quite finish. It too was delicious( and restored my faith in toasted sandwiches having had three in three different pubs recently and all very poor) it was served by a lovely young man, presumably the chef. The beer was also very good.
As it was only a few minutes walk from the hotel we returned for dinner. It was an awful evening, blowing an absolute gale, but it was well worth it. The place was buzzing and we managed to sit at the same table. My husband had another beer and we shared a bottle of red wine which they eventually found after much searching so nothing was too much trouble. We both chose the braised lamb shank served with roast or mashed potatoes. We didn't order starters as we had an idea of the size of the portions! When it arrived it included roast parsnips, leeks in a sauce, broccoli, swede, cabbage and carrots! It was delicious, nothing fancy, just good wholesome food well cooked and sensibly priced. If we are ever in the area again we will certainly return.
