Spent both evenings in here. Food was excellent and great value. Friendly atmosphere made even better by live music on second night. By end of evening all were up dancing and singing. Definitely one to visit!

Where to start? Superb location, food, real ale, service, value and ambience, all down to the lovely landlady Heidi. As visitors, we could not have been made more welcome. Plans to go to different pubs the next two days were revised, to further enjoy this pub jewel. On a busy Sunday evening, we ordered six different dishes. They arrived together, on time, all delicious. Five plates emptied, one diner beaten by the volume. I chatted with Heidi for some time; she has applied common sense and hard work, to turn round a pub that was due to be boarded up before her arrival. Her pub deserves wider recognition; hence I have just written my first ever review. Will definitely return to the C&A, on my next visit to that part of the world.

I have eaten here several times with my family and each time it just gets better.
It is real home cooked, delicious food.The staff are lovely, the service is decent.
The location is perfect, enjoy your meal then walk it off along the promenade.My son loves the Pork Belly and we just love everything else, we can't comment on the desserts as we never have room after the delicious mains.... :)

Came here as I strongly resent being ripped off with some of the silly local hotel prices.
Not being too fussed where I ended up I ended up here - very glad that I did. Drinks are 'normal price' but the WOW is the food. So very glad I came out to eat this evening, had Ribeye and it was fantastic - an honest hats off to the Chef. Best meal I've had for a long time including ones above 'sensible' prices.Really impressed guys with everything apart from the waitress who looks depressed yet should be smiling as she presents your amazing food.

Located a 1 minute walk from Eastbourne Pier along the seafront this pub restaurant consistently delivers great food time and time again. I've eaten there about 6 times now and have always been impressed by the quality of ingredients, the size of the portions and the range of specials on the menu. The pub has an excellent atmosphere and feels very homely. 5-stars every time.

the crown and anchor pub was the first pub i stopped at when i got off the train,it was still early so i just had a couple of drinks,no food,nice clean pub ,candles on the tables, it has outside seating,good beer,friendly staff well worth a visit.

Came in yesterday for quick pint and liked it so much stayed for dinner. It's warm, inviting and friendly. Superb home-made quiche with lovely chips - really tasty ! Staff are very helpful and the music is quiet so you can chat if you want to. Beer, very good - well kept and temperature perfect. Could not fault it - 10/10 !

Called in for lunch, after reading reviews on trip advisor. Husband had chicken, I had fish it was more like a whale!!! Very tasty lunches indeed, only problem being the portion sizes way to big for both of us, as my other half stated one between us would have been enough!! Very enjoyable lunch indeed would recommend.

The Crown and Anchor is a pub, and the décor and atmosphere is what one might expect. However, don't be fooled ... the food is great and better than one would expect. The beer battered cod and chips seemed to be very popular and very reasonably priced. All the food we saw was well cooked, well presented with very reasonable prices. We were here just a couple of weeks ago, and liked it so much we were back again. If you're visiting in the evening, do however, check what's on because Live Singing and TV Sport are advertised.

This is a good pub for food and drink. This how pubs should be, good at everything.Sport is on TV but not taking the pub over, good mix of customers.
