Found a poorly bird on the way back from work and rang WRAS. They answered straight away and gave clear advice over the phone and said they would come to help. Luckily the bird was okay in the end, was very appreciative of the advice. Thank you

I live in East Saltdean & had such a positive experience with the WRAS with a badly injured bird that had flown into the glass doors of our living room. RSPCA did not want to know & did nothing to help when contacted, but WRAS were totally different. Came round very quickly, were caring & very experienced in how they handled &
removed the bird to have medical treatment it needed. They also called to let me know that the bird had recovered after treatment & could be released back into the wild. Can not recommend this charity & the caring people who volunteer for them enough - they are amazing & lovely people😊

It’s an amazing place founded by Trevor Weeks.
Just outside Whitesmith, they will take in most injured wildlife birds and smaller animals. If they don’t have the right type of accommodation, they will work with other Rescue organisations. The ambulance service travels all over Sussex to rescue injured and trapped wild animals.
The staff are very dedicated and lovely, and a huge team of volunteers give their time to cleaning out the animal cages and pens and keeping up with all of the washing and feeding.

I don't usually post reviews but felt inclined to as my experience with WRAS was great.

Today we found a pretty unwell hedgehog. I was a little apprehensive to call for help as I've called different places in different parts of the UK for hedgehogs before, and felt palmed off. But this couldn't have been more opposite. The staff were lovely, especially the receptionist who answered. They listened and acted with genuine care, and told us what to do. They even gave us a reference number to check on how the hedgehog is doing in the next few days (we named him Spud). Great service.

Lisa was wonderful on the phone and Kelly and her colleague did a fantastic job of coming to collect the injured fox from my garden shed. All the ladies involved showed great compassion for the animal and a genuine kindness. Thank goodness such wonderful people exist.
