OK for a night or two The breakfast was OK but would benefit from fried eggs being available The building is very old and tired looking.
The lifts were OK but one was very small

Satisfied Location was great, view not so much, back of the hotel. Breakfast was good, unlimited and great selection of choice The rooms are very dated and floorboards are creaky but I would visit again

Took my mum away and although the hotel was a little tired the staff more than made up for that. Location was excellent once you have parked up. Opposite the pier and beach with entertainment close by.
Nice aspect from the bar to look out over the pier and busy beach.
Entertainment was fun with songs from the 50s to the 2000s all classic.
Tired in appearance and in need of a little facelift. It would have been nice to some historical pictures of the hotel and its guests from times gone by.

Nice Location and Good Value for Money The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower was hot. The room was located at the back of the hotel and looked out onto a flat roof, metal stairs for the fire escape and pigeons. As I was only staying one night this did not matter to me.
The lounge areas are comfortable and the hotel is located opposite the beach and overlooking the promenade just near the pier.
The breakfast was good with plenty of choice from cereals, cooked breakfast, toast, croissants, yoghurt, juice, tea, coffee etc. If I wanted to be critical of the cooked breakfast I would say the scrambled egg was not so good, but it was all kept warm and perfectly eddible.
For what I paid it is hard to be critical and it was good value for money. But this is an old building and shows its age with a somewhat down at heel atmosphere, creaky and slighlty uneven floors and a general need of refurbishment.

The hotel is very tired and is in need of some serious tlc. The parties on the beach until early hours in the morning. We stayed 3 nights and there was loud music and singing every night. Staff said it was being looked into. secondary glazing could help we understand that as it's a listed building, there is only so much you can do, but secondary glazing could help with noise.

On the whole we had a great time and enjoyed our stay. Staff were very helpful and the room was fine Evening meals were good. Breakfast could have had more choice generally. The hotel seemed in need of a refurbishment as it was a 'little tired' around the edges.

Perfectly adequate for our needs, didn't want another Travelodge or Premier Inn, wanted a hotel Staff were mostly very good, friendly and pleasant. Room was a good size and comfortable. Food was good value and enough for what we needed. Reception staff when we arrived were great, answered all our questons and gave advise for travelling to and times needed as were were going to a funeral. The hotel room could have been cleaner, in particular the window frames and bathroom. It is a grand old hotel and must take an enormous amount of upkeep and exposed to the elements as it is right on the sea front. Just showing a little bit tired in places, havng said all that it was excellent value for money.

Not quite the standard expected but location made up for the hotels shortfalls. Room very large. Room very dated with floorboards very uneven and some feeling unsafe. Window in the bathroom was open on arrival and was unable to move so stayed in that situation. No fried eggs for breakfast. Unable to drain water in the bath.
