A very friendly but small museum, which is free to enter (but donations or purchases for RNLI welcome). Volunteer staff were a mine of information

A small building with a lot of history! There is a miniature museum at the back of the gift shop. Interactive displays such as yellow lifejackets for children to try on.
There is a wealth of information about Eastbourne's Lifeboat history to read on the panels, large text paired with pictures and photographs to help illustrate the info. You can see historical nautical items which were donated over the years e.g. Kapok nuts (prev used inside lifejackets). Friendly and helpful staff too.

Who doesn't live an RNLI shop? Lots of related stuff to buy at reasonable prices. The small museum at the back of the shop tells the stories of the brave and heroic people that have been involved in rescues in the area. Please visit and spend money!!
