Sam came to carry out the annual service of our Baxi boiler but, after 14 years, it had reached its end-of-life. We discussed the options and decided to go for a Baxi HP60 Air Source Heat Pump, plus the associated controls, radiator upgrades and a new cylinder. The bulk of the work was completed in 5 days, with Sam doing an excellent installation job, including some fine bespoke plumbing for the new cylinder in the airing cupboard. For part of the week, Sam was assisted by Dean, a highly competent electrician who had the necessary skills to undertake the electrical elements of the new system. As the installation process moved towards completion, there were a couple of ‘Baxi’ issues that had to be resolved in order to have the whole system functioning properly. This was where Sam applied his impressive problem-solving skills to resolve the issues and achieve a fully operational system. The heat pump was installed during the summer heatwave, when we were only heating the water. We’re now in late autumn and the whole system is ticking away smoothly. To date, we’re very pleased with how it all works and prefer it to our previous gas boiler. We’re expecting it to continue performing well during the winter months. For anyone considering the change from boiler to heat pump, we would recommend Sam to carry out the installation efficiently and in a personalised, friendly and courteous manner.
