Eastbourne Astronomical Society hosts a series of public stargazing evenings at Helen Garden during the darker months.
Visitors can look through the society’s telescopes and specialised equipment, with knowledgeable members on hand to help explain what is visible in the night sky.
Depending on conditions, observations may include lunar craters and mountains, Saturn and its rings, Jupiter and its moons, the Seven Sisters star cluster, the Andromeda Galaxy and other constellations.
The sessions are family friendly and free to attend, with no advance booking required.
Please wrap up warmly. Stargazing will not go ahead if it rains or conditions are unsuitable.
