Opening up a world of possibility to girls from the least advantaged communities through mentoring, work experience and a network of female role models.
About The Girls' Network
The Girls’ Network aims to inspire and empower girls aged 14-19 from the least advantaged communities by connecting them to a mentor and a network of professional female role models. They support over 1000 girls a year via relationships with schools in London, Sussex, Portsmouth, the West Midlands, Greater Manchester, the North East and Liverpool City Region. Professional female volunteers are trained in mentoring and safeguarding by The Girls’ Network and meet their mentees at least once a month for a year. Mentoring is a journey, helping mentees get from where they are to where they want to be.
Are you Supportive? Open-minded? A good listener?
Your time can help open up opportunities for a teenage girl and enable her to achieve her potential. Mentoring is a fantastic way to give back, develop new skills, and make a huge difference to a young girl’s confidence by building her professional toolkit together. The Girls' Network matches 14-19 year old girls with a mentor for a year, with the aim to develop skills and confidence, and to open up opportunities and experiences across sectors that the girls may otherwise not have access to. We are currently looking for mentors to support us with our programmes in Eastbourne - if you are interested, please visit our website for more information, and an application form: www.thegirlsnetwork.org.uk
We work with a network of partners, who support our work in various ways, including designing and delivering workshops, providing us with mentors, or sponsoring the work that we do. If you work for an organisation that you think may be interested in hearing more, please get in touch!
Do you work with 14-19 year old girls? Could they benefit from a dedicated female mentor? If so, then we could help!
We will match your students with inspiring female professionals, who will support them over the course of an academic year. Alongside this mentoring, we also provide access to high quality workshops, exclusive networking opportunities and work experience that girls may not have had access to otherwise.
