OperaCoast is a Sussex-based charity that aims to bring classical music and vocal performance not only to an audience of classical music lovers but to people who are not always familiar with this genre, as well as to the younger generations.
Founded in 2011, OperaCoast has created and taken part in a number of successful, meaningful music endeavours. We have provided dozens of aspiring musicians with bursaries, giving invaluable professional experience to those who cannot not always afford it. We introduced opera and classical vocal music to hundreds of people in Sussex and issued free tickets for young people under 20 to all our performances. In the beginning of 2015 the company was officially registered as a charity (No 1160111). Our board of trustees includes BBC Radio 3 presenter Martin Handley and worldwide renowned tenor Peter Bronder.
As the founding director of OperaCoast, Anastasia Witts coordinates and oversees both the day-to-day running of the company and its strategic development. She is the first point of contact and the driving force behind our projects.
