Bellringers in the Eastbourne area welcome new members and visiting ringers.

Bellringing is a team activity that stimulates the brain and helps keep you fit ...

... Listen here, it also makes a glorious sound!

People ring for the pure pleasure and the company it brings, others consider it to be their contribution to church life. 40,000 English ringers alone come from all walks of life and range in age from about eleven to over ninety.

"When I'm ringing I forget all the tensions and frustrations of the day.

Even better: I couldn't wish for a better group of friends!"

Could I become a ringer?

Ringing bells in church towers, known as change ringing or campanology, is well within the capabilities of most people. The initial learning takes several weeks, after which you can begin to ring with the rest of the band. Most ringers practise every week and ring on Sunday.
