Proper home-cooked breakfasts, freshly ground coffee and a warm Eastbourne welcome are what keep people coming back to The Rosy Lee. Run by local owners Dee and Kevin, this much-loved café blends tradition with comfort, creating a place where families, couples and solo visitors all feel at ease.

Family roots, local heart

Dee grew up in Eastbourne and Kevin in Barcombe and Ringmer. They met at catering college in Eastbourne, later married, and in June 2021 took on The Rosy Lee Café. Keeping the well-known name but refreshing its feel, they have shaped it into a welcoming space for everyone. What was once seen as a traditional trades café now attracts families, friends catching up, and visitors enjoying a relaxed meal by the sea.

With daughters and seven granddaughters between them, creating a safe, friendly environment has always mattered. That sense of warmth carries through in the service. You are greeted properly, looked after properly, and served food cooked fresh to order.

Breakfasts, lunches and daily specials

Open from early morning, The Rosy Lee serves hearty breakfasts, homemade lunches and daily lunch specials prepared on site. Everything is made to order, with quality ingredients and generous portions.

You can expect:

  • Full English breakfasts and lighter options

  • Homemade lunches and daily specials

  • Snacks and freshly baked cakes

  • Freshly ground coffee and a full range of drinks

There is a reason people drive past other cafés to eat here. The combination of good food, fair prices and genuine hospitality makes it worth the trip.

A café evolving with the seasons

Dee and Kevin have plans to continue renovating and improving the café, including making better use of the outside space for the warmer months. It is a place that keeps moving forward while holding onto the traditional values people appreciate.
