More and more towns are having this sort of “off the beaten track” area. This one has evolved over time into a place with independent restaurants and shops. Nice enough to wander through, but nothing to write home about.

I've been going to have my hair done by Heather for a while now. She always makes me feel comfortable and listens to what length and style I want instead of doing her own thing. I travel back to Eastbourne from Brighton just to get my hair done by her everytime, no cheating on my hairdresser here!! :-) x

We went of the beaten track and discovered this part of town which consists of some lively streets, interesting buildings with lots of independent businesses, shops as well as eateries. This place is a very short walk from the railway station.

Well !! Little Chelsea is a gem .... fantastic array of individual shops offering that little bit extra. Delicious little cafes and restaurants and not to forget the pubs that have such character.
Little Chelsea is must have for anyone who comes into Eastbourne. Well worth a visit and not to be missed as you will be in for a treat.

It makes a change to go to an area that doesn’t have the national generic shops from large chains. Here are much smaller shops that are stand alone and independent as are the eateries.

Nice easily accessed area near the Station and centre of Eastbourne which has a host of independent businesses. Cycle shop, Vinyl record store, massively stocked used book shop, various eateries, Chinese acupuncturist, indy travel agent, glass engraving shop, large antique store and much more. Many of the houses in Little Chelsea are most charming.

Based around Grove Road and South Street just south of the train station, Little Chelsea is an area of independent shops, restaurants, cafes and decent pubs and is worth strolling on foot. There is a couple of antiques shops, bookshops and quite a few arts and crafts shops. But we mainly came here for the restaurants and the decent pubs in the area in which I would include Bibendum on Grange road and The Eagle and the Dolphin on South Street.

we were on the tour bus and decided to get off and take a coffee.
Found a nice cafe called Cafe 32, had cream tea, was lovely, highly recommend a visit, sat in the courtyard, very nice area.
Been to Eastbourne many times but never to Little Chelsea, lovely area.

Little Chelsea is a great area for independent shops, its nice to get away from all the high street shops. Oxfam book shop is a must, with books for everyone's taste. Good charity shops and a n Antique centre worth a visit.

This provides a welcome change from the shopping arcades, particularly the new expansion in Eastbourne. Luckily some of the traditional shopping areas have been preserved and Little Chelsea is one of them. Don't raise your expectations too much however. It is a pleasant area with a selection of independent shops and cafes where you can linger. I wouldn't mark it as a destination shopping area but it is worth visiting if in Eastbourne.

Have started going to this area quite a bit recently as it’s so close to the new shopping centre. There are a great lot of pubs and cafes and some lovely little shops and nail bar. Has a really nice feel to the area to chill and have a nice drink.

Having visited Eastbourne several times I had heard of 'Little Chelsea' but didn't know where it was or what was there.
I have now found it and was delighted to find a great mix of little independent shops of all kinds, restaurants, cafes, several pubs and really pretty buildings. There is an imposing building at the junction of the two streets which I was informed is the town hall with a pretty clock.
Worth a visit if you're tired of chain stores and want something a bit different, and an easy walk from either the station or the main shopping centre.

I went in with washed out red in my naturally dark hair, and left with beautiful highlight and lowlight blonde caramel hair in one sitting, with soft, shiny hair.
Beautiful salon, lovely friendly staff that made me feel welcome. Can't wait to go back.
