since the fire and the reconstruction the pier has lost a lot of its charm there is gold plate everyhere no fishing allowed off the end and only a few shops that are expensive for the type of goods ther are plenty of slot machines but all rather tacky

Nice January afternoon walk on the pier - tea in the tearoom very good & staff cheery. Sadly though the pier is looking very tatty, lamps not been replaced since the fire, paintwork shabby & many of the windows are so poor you actually can't see through them, it's sad to see such a lovely local landmark looking so dilapidated. Disappointing but am hopeful that as its roped off towards the end some work is about to start??.....

I almost grew up on this pier and remember fishing, no longer allowed, and going to the night club and playing in the arcade. Sadly since the blue room was destroyed by fire the pier seems to lack any atmosphere but the new owners has made big efforts to remedy this. There is a bar/restaurant near the end and if you are looking for some bracing sea air or a beautiful view towards beechy head and Eastbourne seafront then we'll worth a stroll.

Newly finished after fire, great pier restored well. Lots of amusement arcades. Nice long walk, with spectacular views from pier to Eastbourne.

Days of entertainment at the end of the pier has almost gone. Now slot machines,. Bingo , cafe and good clean toilets. Glad it's still there and with two busy theatres there isn't much chance of vaudeville now.

Lovely pier. The only downside is I fished here all my life from being a child, so many memories🤔🤔 They have now stopped anyone fishing from the pier anymore. Surely the businessman who owns the pier is missing a trick. With fees for fishing, to a little cafe and tackle shop like there used to be. Especially as theres a purpose built platform that stops the anglers interfering with other people that use the pier. Shame, always wished I could take my kids fishing where I had fished as a lad. 😕😕
