Drusilla’s park and zoo has been created with children in mind. It is extremely interactive with fact finding flaps. Children of all ages will find this interesting regardless of age or ability as it is fun and colourful. The animal enclosures are also designed so that children can see without constantly being lifted or having to stand on walks etc. The zoo keepers give very informative talks at certain times of day all of which are well advertised.
The enclosures are well maintained and the animals look well cared for. We were lucky as the animals were quite busy and entertaining when we visited.
Also included in the price are a number of rides. Adults do have to accompany the smaller visitors however. There is a large play area with climbing ropes, rope walkways etc as well as another area for the younger/smaller children. All these were well maintained and looked inviting to play on. None of the equipment looked old and faded even though I recognised some from a visit several years ago.
There is also a wet play area for warm days, although we did not use this it did look clean from what I saw.
There are two types of booklet activities for the children to do whilst walking around the zoo, a stamp when seen as well as one for older children with activities to try, always linking it back to animals- how high, fast, loud etc.
We did use one of the cafes, the food and service was good as well as portion size. Prices were fairly reasonable.
The train goes around the enclosures and was quite fun with music playing and jokes to look out for, elder grandson enjoyed this.
The maze was good fun and again very interactive.
Smoking is permitted in designated areas I noticed, which was nice as children did not need to be aware of lit cigarettes being held when walking around.
Great day out will definitely be going back.

As they describe it a different type of zoo. Part animal park and learning zone, and part paly area and part young children theme park. £18 a head is expensive but try Tesco or Groupon, bring a picnic as the food is £6for kids meal, although not bad quality, all your normal stuff burger, nuggets or sandwiches. Enough to do for the whole day, don't forget to use the zoolympics and animal spotter quizzes.

Lovely day out...only let down was the food. We only ate at the Oasis Cafe, burger and chips worst I have ever tasted. Bland and tasteless, infact the chicken burger was more like an overcooked dried up very thin chop and chips were not nice! Very disappointed with food particularly as it's nice place for a day out.

We visited today with our 20 month old. I haven't been since early 1990's, and it has changed so much. What a fantastic place. Our son loved the rides and we couldn't fault the staff, all of them happy and helpful. And the details that go into drusillas was amazing. I personally loved the maze and the playgrounds where incredible, I can't wait till our son is a touch older and I'm sure he will be going climbing high in the playgrounds. There is just so much to do and we didn't have to queue once and we was able to ride many of the rides twice. Thanks drusillas for a fantastic day and money well spent, and incredible memories to take home with us. X

I was given this experience as a birthday present me and my husband spent the day at the park. Full of little animals a train ride that takes you round the park was great there is lots of rides for children the cafeteria was nice and reasonably priced, plenty of toilets and the park isn't huge like a lot of zoos so you get to see everything there is a petting party with farm animals and donkeys. My sloth experience was brilliant very friendly staff nothing to much trouble answered any questions I had what a lovely place to go for a day out well worth the money a dream to true for me to feed the sloths would definitely recommend

Great day out. Value for money if you live locally and become members, (best option in my opinion for kids over five is gold membership). Also value for money if you fully or partly use tesco club card points. Have used tesco points and been members. Currently members.

Can work out expensive if you pay on the gate but they do an online discount if tickets booked in advance.

Well laid out, well kept, clean and tidy with good facilities. Staff are helpful and friendly.

We came at the weekend, as a group of three adults and three children and spent all day here and didnt do everything. Partly because a couple of the kids in our party kept going on the same thing.

Generally you can do it all in one day.

Nice selection of animals with free kids activity books for them to fill in or stamp. Animals always look well looked after.

Food and drinks in cafe and restaurant are average priced. We usually take a picnic and buy drinks and ice cream etc but have eaten here too. We took picnic this weekend.

Lots of toilet facilities around the park which are always checked and always been clean when we have used them.

The park is geared to 12 and under, but that doesn’t mean older persons can not enjoy it too.

There are additional activities which cost extra unless your child is a gold member. The price band for the activities works out cheaper the more you buy. One activity is about £5 but if you buy 4 tickets it works out £3 an activity.

You can have a full day out without going on the extra bits. The hello kitty and animal rides are included in the entry price.

We did have a lady ask us as we queued for the train if it was included. To which we said yes.

All things at the zoo park are open most weekends and school holidays.

We find Saturday is a good day to go. We visited on last Saturday in fact.

It can get very busy on event days.

The kids always have a great time. And I recommend a visit.

Lovely and clean zoo. Not as many animals as my son was expecting to see. Lots more things to do than just a zoo.

Just love this little family zoo. Well thought out, packed with kid-friendly attractions, great animals, nice rides and play areas, and good educational material. Pricey, but it is an all day experience.

Drusilla's park is a very good day out. We had so much fun! The rides are really for kids under 10, but there's so much else to do. The zoo is fantastic, with a wide variety of different animals. Ok it's no London zoo, but there is plenty there for the kids to enjoy. I can't believe I haven't been there before with my daughter. I will definitely be returning soon, she loved it!

We had a great day out here with my son whose 22 months and my mum.

This zoo has lots of animals to enjoy (mainly small mammals) lots of monkeys which everyone loved to see.

Stamp trail and lots of little facts dotted around too.

The rides were also fun and great that they are safe for smaller children to go on unlike other places where you need to be a metre tall.

Also noticed that lots of the rides allowed wheelchairs and children with movement problems to enjoy them too which is something I hadn’t seen

Once you are over 2 £20 a ticket

Great for young children. Plenty to do to fill the whole day. We went in the summer holidays but didn't have to queue longer than five minutes for any rides which is perfect for the young children this park is aimed at (the rides are probably ideally for children 8 years old and under; children as young as 1 can go on several rides). Lots of animals to see in the zoo. Good recycling bins but they are next to the smoking area so I had to passive smoke while I separated our lunch rubbish! Please 'like' my review if you find it helpful. Thank you.

This one of the best places I have visited with my son its very well kept and maintained. The animals are spotless and surrounding areas. Some very unusual animals to look at. The play areas are fantastic for children. I would say the rides are aimed at 5 year olds and younger. But what a fantastic place.

A great variety of activities, both fun and educational - so much to see and do. The staff are extremely friendly. I took my 10 year old and her friend and they had a wonderful day. We didn’t have time to do everything. Very useful being able to go back to the car during the day. Would definitely go back.

We went to Drusillas for the feed the penguin experience which was for my 7 year old Son’s Birthday treat. His voucher entitled him to free entry to the park & we had a wonderful day. Best zoo we have ever visited by far. Not only do they have wonderful, bright & roomy animal enclosures but children can also play in the huge park. The penguin experience was magical. The 2 zoo keepers were fantastic. We had a behind the scenes tour & Nanny was allowed into the penguin aquarium also. A day he’ll never forget!
