We love Drusillas, the zoo is fairly large with a huge play area for the children.

The animals seem well cared for and happy most of the time. There are lots of hands on things for the kids to do around the zoo before you get to the play areas, I would recommend picking up the free zoolympics leaflets (bring a pen) and the animal spotter stamp book for the kids.

The play area is separated into an under 5s area and over 5s, and is absolutely massive with a good choice of play equipment. Indoor softplay has an under 3s area and over 3s. The under 3s is pretty limited but the rest is large with a good choice of things to do.

The rides are great for young children (up to maybe 12ish?) Although adults can ride with the children. Be prepared to queue at weekends and school holidays, particularly when the weather is nice. There is a good sized splash pad, so bring swimwear and towels.

The onsite restaurant and cafes are quite pricey (but in line with what you would expect for somewhere like this) there is a good choice of food and drinks, and the restaurant is licensed. The food is reasonably good quality. Some activities are chargeable (penguin plunge, climbing wall, panning for gold and dino dig) and are a little overpriced in my opinion.

Single day entry is expensive, so if you are going for just one day I would arrive at opening time to get best value for money. If you live near enough to visit 2 or 3 times a year, I would suggest considering membership which works out much better value. For a small charge, children up to age 12 can have a gold membership which gives free unlimited access to the chargable activities mentioned above.

The light show at christmas is brilliant, and well worth a visit. Father Christmas is his grotto are very realistic and the gifts are usually a lovely cuddly toy, but this is quite an expensive add on (I think £8 per child last year.)

Having just been a zoo in Asia it was nice to see a safe and suitable enclosure for all the species with large enclosures.

Drusillas is an amazing place. Is mainly a zoo with plenty of animals. Also there are a few attractions aimed at young children. Plenty of activities. I recommend the free challenge books to keep kids entertained.

Quite expensive and really busy but there was a lot to do. Our toddler would have coped better if it was possible to see some animals then play then see the rest, but you have to walk through all of the animals to get to the activities.

We were lucky to have an overcast slightly rainy day as the park wasn’t busy at all. We arrived at midday (due to car trouble) so went straight to main restaurant via the exit route where we were greeted by friendly staff. The food was tasty and not bad value for a park. From there we went “the wrong way round” going on the lovely rides and the little train (which was Thomas last time we went!), then the adventure playground and finally the zoo. This meant that we were practically on our own looking at the animals, so it was lovely. Our favourites were the penguins, sloths, tortoises, iguanas and python, so we sort of left the best till last. Great value day too as we used Tesco Clubcard vouchers.

Another brilliant day at Drusillas. Two grandparents and their 6 and 4 year old grandchildren went last Wednesday 15th August for five hours of fun with the animals, play area, "Get Wet" area, "Hello Kitty" and train ride. All the staff we met were so obliging and genuinely helpful and lunch in the Explorers' Café worked very well - so much better fare than one usually finds in similar parks. Difficult to see how anyone wouldn't enjoy the friendly atmosphere, the variety of the offering, the cleanliness and the joy on the children's faces. Stay away from the beach and go to Drusillas.

We took my son Noah to Drusillas Park for his 10th birthday. It was our first time there and we arrived full of anticipation as we had come specially for Noah to have an encounter with his most loved animal, a sloth.
We went as a family, myself and husband and then our three children aged 10, 7 and 20 months.
Noah’s sloth encounter was booked for 3 o clock so we arrived just after 10 am and had plenty of time to see all the amazing animals and also have a play in the playground and the wet area - we came prepared with swimmers and towels and the three children thoroughly enjoyed splashing about.
The sloth encounter was absolutely amazing and Noah was so thrilled, his zoo keeper Charlie was brilliant with him and Slothocleese (the sloth) so Noah could meet him.
I was so impressed with Drusillas- we travelled up from Southampton and it was very much worth the journey. We will definitely visit again this year.
There is literally something for everyone no matter what age. Great picnic areas, play areas, masses of animals to see and you can get pretty close to them too so you see so much more.
Prices for entry are reasonable with a discount available too if you pre book online.
In my opinion a no brainer... go explore!!

Great place for kids with lots of activities. The close encounters with the animals is the best. They have quite a huge selection of animals. The thrill rides are a bonus. Wonderful place.

We spent the day here with young child two half years old after queuing for about twenty minutes to get in we entered the park. Lots to do and see from farm animals zoo animals and rides to have fun on. Large selection of animals who looked well looked after with clean cages and plenty of outdoor area for them to play or live in. There is a circular trail you can walk around to see the whole lot. The rides were more suited for younger children rather than older teenagers. They have cafe,s all over the park food is mostly fast food burgers hot dogs etc and typically priced for a attraction would suggest you take a picnic and your own drinks. The place is looking tired in places you can tell it has been going for a long time opened as a park in the 1920,s with attractions being added over the years

The car park was well organised with clearly marked out bays and staff to facilitate. The ticket queue was long. We arrived at 10.30am and queued for 50 minutes. This was the only disappointing thing. There could have been another till to speed things up a bit. The Tesco voucher offer of £3 for every £1 voucher was great value for money. We covered our £60 entrance fee for a family of 3 with £20 vouchers by applying online via cub card website.
The park was enjoyable. The animals in the zoo were all very healthy and larger specimens thane have seen in other zoos. There was educational interaction for our 7 year old daughter. The zoo keepers answered any questions we had about the animals.

The play area was fun. She enjoyed all the rides including Hello Kitty car and tea cups. She enjoyed the flying hippo ( similar to magic carpet ride at Chessington) and the flying cheetah. We paid £5 for the large bouncy slide and she had the opportunity to use it many times although she stopped after 3 goes.

The train ride was about 5 minutes and we queued for 10 minutes to get on. Im undecided if it was worth the wait for the train.

We brought our own picnic and there was ample seating. We did try the coffee and fresh doughnuts which were tasty.
We recommend Drusillas park for families with younger children. Its friendly and fun.
