Supporting unpaid carers across East Sussex, Care for the Carers provides practical advice, emotional support and a wide range of services to help those looking after a family member, friend or neighbour. The charity works to ensure no unpaid carer has to face their caring role alone.

Caring for someone can be rewarding, but it can also bring significant emotional, physical and financial challenges. Care for the Carers is an independent charity dedicated to supporting unpaid carers throughout East Sussex, helping them access the advice, information and practical assistance they need while recognising the vital contribution they make to their families and communities.

The charity offers a wide range of personalised support, including one-to-one advice, carers' assessments, wellbeing services, counselling, training opportunities and local support groups. Whether someone has recently become a carer or has been providing support for many years, Care for the Carers helps people understand their rights, access available services and find practical solutions to the challenges they face.

Alongside direct support, the charity works to raise awareness of the important role unpaid carers play across East Sussex. It encourages carers to look after their own wellbeing, connects them with others in similar situations and provides opportunities to take breaks, learn new skills and reduce feelings of isolation. Young carers, parent carers and those supporting people with complex health conditions can all access specialist services tailored to their individual circumstances.

Care for the Carers also administers the East Sussex Carers Card, helping carers access emergency planning and a range of local discounts while recognising their caring responsibilities. Through partnerships with healthcare providers, local authorities and community organisations, the charity continues to strengthen support for unpaid carers across the county.

By championing carers and ensuring they have somewhere to turn for help, Care for the Carers continues to improve the wellbeing of thousands of people across East Sussex, making sure those who spend so much time caring for others receive the support they deserve.
