The campaign to save Coventry Rugby Football Club enters its final week!!

The campaign to save Coventry Rugby Club which was started by the Coventry Telegraph www.coventrytelegraph.net has entered into its final week. The C.T. is heading a campaign to raise £100,000 as a security bond to be lodged with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) for a period of 2 years. If the £100,000 bond is raised in time, the RFU will allow Coventry Rugby Club to continue to play in the National Division One League next season, while the RFU monitor the management of our historic Rugby Club. If the campaign to save Coventry Rugby Club fails, it would effectively put Cov out of business!

The C.T. has reported plenty of support for their campaign to raise enough funds to save the club, however, the job is not complete and every penny is needed:

On a personal note, thebestofcoventry had already been involved with supporting Coventry Rugby Club, well before the campaign had been started. Having sponsored star player Ronnie McLean for the forth coming National Division One season and taken a pitch side advertising board and become members of the Centurions Club www.coventryrfc.co.uk it's safe to say thebestofcoventry are 100% behind the campaign! As a local and vocal website we took the decision to get involved with Coventry Rugby Club, because we were so impressed with the amount of work they undertake within the local Coventry community. They are heavily involved in so many community projects from schools & youth clubs, coaching, young offenders programmes and knife prevention within Coventry, just to name a few! Coventry Rugby Football Club is truly making a difference in the local Coventry community!

If you can help in anyway please get in touch - No donation is to small or indeed to large (Coventry City Council hint hint!)

If you are holding an event in support of Coventry Rugby Club get in touch and let us know how it went! Business owners feel free to let us know you are supporting the club and add a post. If you have any thoughts or would just like to leave a message of support get blogging!
