Halloween Safety

Halloween is only a couple of weeks away, but if you want to do some baking before then, you’d better get your ingredients quick! The major supermarkets have been asked to limit the amount of flour and eggs sold to under 16’s in a bid to prevent them being used to hurl at houses during an evening of trick-or-treat. This campaign begins today until November 8th. Although it’s not a ban, retailers are requested to use “discretion” when selling eggs and flour in large quantities. A similar campaign ran in 2009 and the number of reported incidents involving eggs and flour dropped by 20%. With this in mind, get all your baking done now before Halloween so there's nothing in the ingredients cupboard for your teenagers to use on the night, and ensure you have an egg and flour free Halloween on Sunday 31st October!
