Coventry doing their bit for Children in Need

It's always nice to read the local Coventry newspapers each week to find out what's been going on in the city. It's even nicer when you see a picture of someone you know in the paper too...

So it was great for me to see a very good friend and business associate of ours, Suresh Patel, from New Deals for Communities, smiling out from one of the pages! Many of our bestof Coventry Business Members know Suresh and his business colleagues, Terry Turner and Helen Kavanagh, from our Futures Networking events - he's the one with the camera and the friendly smile!!!

Suresh spent the day washing cars along with Karam Sandhu, and their valiant efforts helped to raise over £1,000 for Children in Need at the Moat House Leisure and Neighbourhood Centre.

Residents in Wood End, Manor Farm, Henley Green and Deedmore came in their hundreds to donate their money and take part in activities including a coffee morning, tea dance, karaoke, leg waxing, bric-a-brac sale, stocks, badge making, 24-hour badminton challenge, bingo, table tennis, basketball games, 50-mile walkathon, face painting, penalty shootouts and more!

Their kindness and generosity meant that the money raised went towards the record £20.3 million national total for Children in Need.

Well done Suresh for doing your bit and washing those cars, and I hope you didn't leave any streaks!!!
