Coventry canal basin is a beautiful and tranquil oasis containing a thriving community of small businesses, a gorgeous canal walk, wildlife and a welcoming community of boaters. It are only a stones throw from the central Coventry, but are a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

Its within walking distance from the city centre, on two major bus routes and offers free short stay parking throughout the week.

They hold regular events throughout the year at the canal basin and  they host classes and workshops in arts, crafts, lifedrawing, to name but a few.

Currently the canal basin is home to an art gallery, craft workshop, illustration studio and bookshop, trophy design and engravers, tattooist, wedding & prom dress specialist, hairdressers, and a wonderful cafe.

The Lock Gallery was Coventry's first Independent art gallery, and the perfect place for all local emerging and established artists to be able to showcase their work.

It is run by Soft Sculptor, Emma O'Brien, who also uses the space as a studio to work on her own art.

Why not take a relaxing visit and enjoy a different side to Coventry with beautiful scenery and walks along some historic canal runs
