Coventry Blaze say goodbye to Adam Calder

Adam Calder, captain of Coventry Blaze, ends his six year career with the new Elite League Champions.

What a fantastic night as we watched the last game in the play off quarter finals at the Skydome in Coventry on Sunday March 28th, and Coventry Blaze claimed a 4-2 vistory over the Hull Stingrays!

It was a night of mixed emotions - the team won, but we also said goodbye to the Adam Calder as he made his last appearance for the Blaze ice hockey team.

The crowd, young and old, gave a standing ovation for Adam Calder, the all time leading league scorer. After six illustrious years playing ice hockey for Coventry Blaze, and helping the team win eight major trophies, Adam is leaving the club to take on the role of player/coach for Braehead Clan in Glasgow.

Blaze coach, Paul Thompson, said that Adam’s departure would leave a big hole in the dressing room, but understands that this is a wonderful opportunity for him and wishes him all the best.

Going to watch the Coventry Blaze play in an ice hockey game is a great family event and I’d really recommend you try and get to a game next season. You may get hooked!

“Go The Blaze!!!”
