Why it is a Good Idea to have a Pre Wedding Shoot

If you are unsure about having a pre wedding shoot then here are some reasons why it is not only a nice treat but its an important part of your pre wedding planning.

1. Getting to know each other

Your photographer will be one of the only suppliers that will be with you for most of your wedding day so you need to feel comfortable having them around. Yes you will have meetings with your photographer but you dont really get to know them personally. If you opt for a Pre Wedding shoot, you will feel more relaxed on your wedding day as you will have got to know how your photographer works and what they need you to do, how they need you to stand.

2. Reactions & Posing

This may sound a bit strange but its true, people act completely differently when other people are around, add a camera into the mix and it can be like "rabbit in the head lights". A Pre Wedding shoot is a great way for your photographer to work out how you interact as a couple and they will work at directing you on how to position your feet, what to do with your hands, where to look etc, so come your Wedding Day this will all come a little more naturally and help your day run smoothly.

3. Venue

If you are having your Pre Wedding shoot at your venue, you will get to discuss where you would like to have photos taken on your wedding day and also just how long it takes to get from one place to the next. This allows timings to be worked out for your big day.

On the run up to your Wedding Day the weather can be a great cause of stress and worry. If you have had your Pre Wedding shoot at your venue you can check out suitable places indoors for photos. So if it does rain on your big day, you will be safe in the knowledge that you will get some beautiful photos indoors. If you really wanted photos outdoors but the Great British weather isnt playing ball, you can always arrange to go back to your venue with your photographer for a "Treasure the Dress" shoot.

4. Quality

Now the last point here is a very serious point. There are a lot of photographers out there, that are not as good as they claim to be. We've all seen the horror stories in the papers about how couples have been devastated that the photographer they have booked has turned out to be cowboys and the photos have been horrendous.

Pre Wedding shoot will put your mind at ease. You will get to see the equipment the photographer is using and the results from your shoot. If you are unhappy with the results taken in a relaxed environment chances are they won't be able to cope in a more stressful environment like a wedding. If you areunhappy with the results for whatever reason, sit down with your photographer and discuss why you are unhappy. However, if the photos come out blurred, under/over exposed, heads being chopped off then run a mile.

Why take any chances, you cant go back and reshoot the wedding!
