Kelsall residents have been taking full advantage of free legal advice from law firm Walker Smith Way at local legal clinics held in Kelsall Community Centre, which began in May 2010.

Taking place on the first Monday and fourth Thursday of the month, the legal clinics have been dealing with a wide range of queries, including employment issues, Will writing, family and divorce law, and buying and selling property.

One specialist solicitor attends each legal clinic to provide immediate legal advice and support to those who visit. Regular solicitors running the clinic include Louise Eccleston partner and Deborah Wise, solicitor, from Walker Smith Way’s Wills, trusts and probate department, and Jason Thomas, associate in the firm’s residential conveyancing department.

Said Louise: “We’re delighted with the response as we’ve had up to five people calling in each session, which is great for a drop-in service. Not everyone has the time or the means to visit a solicitor in Chester – we get a real mixture of people calling in, from those with very young families to the elderly. As there’s no need to make an appointment, our evening sessions have proved handy for people calling in after work, too.”

Jason added: “The convenience of being able to see a solicitor virtually on the doorstep and for free is a definite plus for anyone in a small village, especially if mobility is an issue.”

The next Kelsall legal clinics take place on Monday 4th April from 4.30 - 6.30pm and Thursday 28th April from 2.00 - 4.00pm
