VALUABLE PENGUIN MAKES A BID FOR FREEDOM TO LOCAL HOTEL
A penguin insured for thousands of pounds went missing last week from the Chester outdoor clothing store Wombat.
The valuable arctic visitor was missing in action for over three hours from his Christmas retail job, when he was found at the Doubletree by Hilton hotel later on Thursday afternoon.
The three foot replica seemingly got wind of the festivities over at the Chester hotel where other penguins have been gathering in their numbers in the form of scratch cards.
The scratch cards, shaped like the flightless festive bird, offer a range of prizes including one week's free membership to the Club and Spa at Hoole Hall, 20% off at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill, buy-one-get-one-free cocktails at the restaurant and 25% off spa treatments. Every card is a guaranteed win so are set to be popular with Chester residents.
The Doubletree Christmas penguin cards can be spotted throughout the establishment plus in and around Chester city centre this Yuletide.
This Christmas giveaway celebrates the array of exciting events happening throughout the festive season, from the glamorous New Years Eve Balls to the Christmas party nights that will run all through December.
General Manager Tony Wright said: “We’ve loved having the penguin here at Doubletree, it’s made everyone very excited for all our Christmas events coming up. The scratch cards are our way of giving back this Christmas to ensure everyone has a great holiday.”
The penguin scratch cards will only be visiting for a limited time so catch them whilst you can!
