COME WITH US IT’S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!!!!!!!!

Cheshire Jets will look to continue their good start to the BBL Championship when they face Newcastle Eagles for the first time this season on Sunday the 17th of October 5.30 at the Northgate Arena. Eagles come into the game in an unaccustomed bottom spot having lost their opening two games, but Jets coach Paul Smith dismisses any worry of being hit by a backlash from Fab Flournoy’s team:

“We’re not worried about that, we are just focussing on our own improvement week to week and putting the work in on the practice floor to get our own game where it needs to be.”

Coach Smith puts Eagles’ long-term success down to the teamwork showed by Flournoy’s side:

“They will be tough to beat and they will be in the mix when the trophies are handed out during the season!

“I think Joe Chapman and Trey Moore is a very talented back court but one of the features of their success over the years has been their great team play. They work for each other defensively and they share the ball well and any one of their players can hurt you on the night.”

Jets go into the game on the back of a 74-67 home victory against Worthing Thunder – a result that left Smith a satisfied man:

“We played well in parts, particularly defensively but we are still striving for that consistency of high level play over 40 minutes.

“Colin started to show what he is capable of and that was good to see and Stevie  re-energised the whole team, as he always does, when he came off the bench.”

Flournoy expects a tough game at the Northgate Arena:

“All Jets’ American are BBL rookies but we obviously know quite a lot about  Murray, O’Reilly, Gayle and Calvin. They will be well coached and I gather will be quite up-tempo in their game. And Northgate is always a tough place to play.”
