This week the Xmas Toy Appeal saw some wonderful support from Chester FC as their mascot BiG Lupus came to the BiG Storage drop off point on Sealand Road to see how many toy toys have been collected for the appeal so far. It is truly amazing how with still a few weeks until Christmas, our readers have gathered enough toys to fill plenty of space at BiG Storage.....and the collection is still growing!
Andrew Donaldson Partner at BiG Storage said: “Whilst we have this year once again been delighted that more toys than ever have been donated by readers we are also very grateful to Chester FC and the growing number of businesses that now donate generously to the appeal each year”

When you are carrying out your Christmas shopping, please give a thought to a disadvantaged or vulnerable child or teenager by adding one extra gift to your list. These new gifts will make Christmas extra special for so many individuals, so please, take up the buy one get one free offers, or 2 for 1’s and bring some seasonal joy and a smile to a young person’s face.
The local charities this year are:
• Save the Family who provide support homeless families need to stop them becoming separated during times of need; children can be taken into care whilst parents are left searching for help. Save the Family's unique model provides homeless families with an opportunity to stay together, take responsibility and build a better future for themselves and their children. They offer practical and emotional support to families facing separation at their locations in Cheshire and Wales.
• Miles of Smiles whose appeal was launched through Chronicle Newspapers in Chester in 1992 to send sick, disabled and under-privileged children from Chester and district, Wirral and North Wales on the trip of a lifetime. Over the past 18 years a dedicated Committee of volunteers together with an army of Individuals, groups, organisations and businesses have helped raise over £800,000 to help make dreams come true for hundreds of families.
