The England Footballers Foundation today hosted their first ever EFF Charity Golf Cup at De Vere Carden Park, Cheshire.

The tournament and gala dinner, which was hosted by the England team to raise money for their charity partners Help for Heroes, Cancer Research UK and their own Outreach Programme.

As well as current England players Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Peter Crouch there were a host of ex-players and celebrities who played in the 26 teams.
Speaking at the event Chris Smalling said: "Every time we get the chance to meet up it's great to see the fruition of the England Footballers Foundation. We all realise we are in a very fortunate position so we want to give something back."

Peter Crouch added: "Supporting our charity partners through events like today helps generate more vital funds and awareness. It's great to meet all the people that have come down here today to support our foundation."

To date the England team have raised over £2.2 million for charities including Together For Short Lives (formerly known as Children's Hospices UK), WellChild, the Bobby Moore Fund and the Professional Footballers Association charity initiatives. Their current charity partners are Help for Heroes, Cancer Research UK and their Outreach Programme.
