Chester Firm Celebrates Jump in Turnover

Broughton-based sign-makers Signworld Group is flying high after reporting a 25 per cent jump in turnover.

The group attributes its growing success in 2011 to attracting high street retailers, improving its skills base by increasing staff training, investing in technical abilities and improved manufacturing performance.

Group managing director Allan Stephenson said: “I am privileged to announce another tremendous growth year for the Signworld Group between 2010 and 2011. We are a leaner but technologically stronger business, which has resulted in Signworld achieving an impressive 25 per cent increase on turnover.

“We have invested heavily during this most difficult and challenging economic climate and have further diversified into new and exciting fields, broadening our appeal to our many local, regional and national clientele. We have also invested in training programmes for our staff in all departments, furthering our skills and knowledge in all areas of our business.

“I would like to thank both our valued customers as well as our loyal staff without whom these achievements would simply not be possible.”

Mr Stephenson also announced the group’s premises in Broughton are expanding by 10,000 sq ft which will accommodate the business’ engineering arm – Smartfab.

He explained: “This will allow us to facilitate our fabrication work in-house within this purpose built modern facility. The metal fabrication team at Smartfab join forces with a multitude of existing skilled workers which include sign engineers, fitters, electricians, joiners, vehicle wrap specialists, graphic designers, web developers and a highly experienced admin team. We shall also have a uniquely designed showroom which we will use to exhibit and showcase our many products.”
