Chester law firm SAS Daniels LLP is hosting a complimentary afternoon tea event to launch a free will scheme in conjunction with Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The free will service will be available from May 16th to August 15th and is open to anyone over the age of 55 who is not already an existing SAS Daniels client. Those who are eligible will be able to make or amend their will free of charge on a first come, first served basis.

The afternoon tea events will provide complimentary tea, coffee and cakes and allow for an informal atmosphere where guests can meet members of the Marie Curie team and discuss their will with qualified legal advisors from SAS Daniels.

There is no obligation to make a will or leave a gift to the charity but the hope is that many will use the scheme to settle their affairs and support Marie Curie’s work.

Associate solicitor in the firm and head of the wills team, Bik-ki Wong organised the scheme with Judy Glossop, community fundraiser at Marie Curie. Bik-Ki Wong commented: “It’s really important to make a will to ensure that the people and organisations you wish to benefit from your estate do so and in the best possible way.

“We hope that these events will raise awareness of the scheme run by Marie Curie, as well as highlighting the pitfalls of not having an up-to-date will in place.”

Marie Curie Cancer Care offers care for terminally ill people in hospices and in the community, as well as providing support for families of patients.

The afternoon tea event will take place from 3-5pm on Friday May 13th at SAS Daniels’s Chester office based at 35 White Friars.
