North West law firm SAS Daniels LLP has appointed Laura Parkinson as Business Development Director as it targets further growth in 2012.
Laura (36), who has 15 years’ experience as a senior marketer in the legal services sector, has also joined the firm’s partnership.
Her experience includes roles at DLA Piper, where she headed-up the global firm’s Liverpool business development team for five years, and Brabners Chaffe Street. For the past two and a half years she has run her own marketing consultancy, counting a range of law firms, including Weightmans and Hill Dickinson, among her clients.
The move comes as SAS Daniels continues to focus on growing its business to business services from secondary commercial centres in the region, targeting SME’s and mid-market corporates.
Nigel Haddon, Chief Executive of SAS Daniels, said: “Laura has exceptional knowledge of the legal market and having launched her own successful business we saw a reflection of our own entrepreneurial spirit in her. We‘ve started 2012 with great momentum and Laura will play a key role as we look to build on this in the future.”
Laura’s appointment follows an impressive start to 2012 for the Chester-based firm, which included winning a place on National Australia Bank’s regional legal panel and recruiting two new partners - litigation team head Chris MacCafferty and real estate expert Thomas Cressey.
Commenting on her new role, Laura Parkinson said: “SAS Daniels has already proved itself to be a nimble and dynamic firm – qualities which are essential in a changing legal market. Running a business has been a very rewarding experience but the chance to work with such an ambitious group of lawyers and achieve a career-long ambition of becoming a partner, made a compelling and exciting proposition for my next career move. I’m looking forward to playing my part in bringing the firm’s exciting growth plans to fruition.”
