Redrow's North West division has started a five year partnership with a local hospice that provides care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families.

The first fundraising activities were carried out in June and included a golf day as well as a number of team members participating in The Chester Dragon Boat Festival.

Claire House’s ambition is to reach every life-limited and terminally ill child in the North West and so money that Redrow raises will go towards providing facilities to help families in their homes, help more children at their hospice and reach out to more children who do not have much longer to live.

Dan Halliday, partnerships manager at Claire House says that money raised will fund the best nursing care and end of life care for the children at Claire House.

“The list of support we give to families is endless whether its emergency respite, short breaks or bereavement support, the demand for our services is higher than ever before. Partnerships like the one we have with Redrow mean we can offer help to more and more families, with the aim of helping every child that needs us.”

The Redrow team that spans across the North West and North Wales takes part in various annual sporting events. Not only that, the team has weekly dress down Fridays where participating employees donate £1 but perhaps the biggest fundraising event is an annual ball that the housebuilder’s staff, friends and family attend.

Jason Newton, sales director at Redrow North West says: “Claire House does a fantastic job of caring for children from across the region and we’re all so proud of the backing we will be able to give to this charity. We wholly believe in the care and support Claire House offers families.

“This year the Cain family are marking what would have been their daughter, Claire’s 40th birthday. Their story was the inspiration behind Claire House’s creation and the family are aiming to raise £40,000 to help the organisation continue its vital work. Our support will also make a huge difference to many more local children and families and we look forward to fundraising to help them achieve their goal.”
