Local law firm, QualitySolicitors Oliver & Co., have exceeded their target of donating £5,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support in 2010 by raising almost £7,000.00.

Over the last year QualitySolicitors Oliver & Co. have taken part in a number of fundraising events including a Dragon Boat Race, Macmillan Coffee Morning, and bag packing in a local supermarket.

The Industrial Disease Department deals with compensation claims for asbestos related conditions, including the rare cancer, mesothelioma. Many clients have experienced the care services that Macmillan provides and the Industrial Disease team feels it is important to raise awareness of the fantastic work that Macmillan do, as well as making donations to help fund the charity’s work.

Aimee Scally, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support within Chester said: “A great big thank you to Oliver & Co for their fantastic fundraising over the last few years. It’s our 100th birthday this year and it’s a great way to start our celebrations and another year of fundraising together. Oliver & Co are a fantastic example of how a local company can raise money for local people affected by cancer by using their expertise and by having fun. We really couldn’t provide the services to people affected by cancer without the local support of people and companies like Oliver & Co…Thank you”.

Quality Solicitors Oliver & Co. are looking forward to continuing to support Macmillan throughout the coming year with the hope of exceeding their target even further.  Many more fundraising events are in the pipeline and the firm are now excited about the forthcoming year.
