Staff at a Cheshire Hotel are celebrating after scooping a clutch of national awards for excellence in golf.

De Vere Carden Park won a host of top honours, including clinching the title of Golf Sales Team of the Year, at the annual ‘59 Club awards, which recognises leading golf service providers across the UK.

Beating hundreds of hotels from around the country, the hotel, golf resort and spa also won a Four Star Service Award, saw two of its employees scoop individual awards and was runner up in the category of Best Golf Service Provider.

The ‘59 Club, which sets the benchmark for golf service delivery in the UK, recognises venues for their commitment to client satisfaction through a number of criteria, from phone call analysis to golf course presentation and food and beverage service. Each venue is marked independently by a panel of ‘mystery’ visitors and members, to ensure that a fair, unbiased and accurate representation of customer service is accumulated.

Both trophies for Individual Golf Sales Performance UK were picked up by Carden Park employees - Leighton Williams and Rachael Davies - thanks to their outstanding results in 2011.

De Vere was also awarded Golf Group of the Year for the second consecutive year, with no fewer than six De Vere venues picking up awards from the ‘59 Club’

Earlier this year De Vere Carden Park was named the Best Golf Resort / Hotel in the North of England in the Today’s Golfer Travel Awards 2011, voted for by golfers.

It’s also a holder of the prestigious ‘Golf Mark’ standard from the English Golf Union (EGU), due to its junior and beginner friendly facilities.
