A LOCAL company has created a cookbook for charity with the help of some famous faces – including Premier football managers, celebrity chefs and the Prime Minister.

Chester-based commercial energy consultants Power Solutions has already raised more than £590 for Claire House Children’s Hospice by producing a cookbook packed with home-cooked family favourites and celebrity dinner party classics.

The cookbook was born from Natasha Orpel’s and Irene Hulse’s love of home-cooked food. The duo from Power Solutions wanted to raise as much money as possible for Claire House Children’s Hospice so they came up with the idea for a cookbook and started to write to the rich and famous for recipes.

Accounts Assistant Natasha, aged 32, says: “Producing the cookbook was hard work but great fun.

“In total the project has taken about eight months to complete and it’s been well worth it. The reaction we’ve received has been so positive and of course the money raised will help a great cause.”

Recipes contained within the cookbook have been contributed from a number of individuals from the local area. A few more well-known names can be found in the recipe book from Prime Minister, David Cameron’s slow cooked shoulder of lamb with roasted vegetables, to Manchester United Manger, Alex Ferguson’s grilled sea bass with fettuccine and ratatouille sauce.

Natasha says: “We had such a fantastic response from the famous people we approached. It really is quite amazing that we could include them in our book.”

Other recipe contributions have come from local establishments like The DoubleTree by Hilton Chester and Michael Caines restaurant at the Abode Chester.

Claire House Children’s Hospice is based in Bebington on the Wirral and provides care to children and young adults in Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions.  Further details on the Hospice can be located over at www.claire-house.org.uk.

Copies of the cookbook can still be purchased from Power Solution’s Natasha Orpel for £5, which will be donated directly to Claire House Children’s Hospice. Contact Natasha on Natasha@powersolutionsuk.com
