Dedicated care staff at Jane Lewis Health & Social Care, based in St Werburgh Street Chester, have delivered a staggering 250 homemade Christmas cupcakes across the county to 125 at-home clients.

The cakes, in celebratory Christmas tree and snowflake designs, were made by hand by Kathryn Spragg from Oswestry, a sister of a Jane Lewis employee.

Care worker 20 year old Katie Baron from Chester who looks after clients in Hoole and Vicars Cross said that this time of year can be particularly difficult for those who find it hard to get out and about:

“Christmas can be a very lonely time of year where people who are home bound can feel particularly isolated.

“By taking these sweet gifts to our clients we hope we can not only raise a smile but also help share some festive spirit with our clients in homes across Cheshire.”

Annie Evans from Hoole, an elderly client who receives daily home care, commented: “Thank you for sending Lorraine every day, she’s a lovely carer, and it was especially nice to get this gift. These very nice, attractive cakes were a wonderful surprise! I’ve already tried one and the buttercream tasted beautiful.”

Jane Lewis provides domiciliary care for service users across Cheshire and North Wales from Malpas and Tarporley through to Ellesmere Port, Chester and Wrexham. The service, which was launched 25 years ago, is given to a wide range of clients including older people, adults with learning disabilities, adults with physical disabilities, those with acquired brain injury, palliative care and children.

Managing Director of Jane Lewis Health & Social Care Nick Hodson adds: “Our domiciliary care team prides itself on offering personalised care for our clients as we know thoughtful touches mean a great deal.

“As we cover such a wide area across Cheshire all our home care assistants and social workers have been hitting the roads to make the deliveries and help ensure that we take a little piece of Christmas to our clients this year.”

To meet growing demand for its services, Jane Lewis Health & Social Care is recruiting for permanent staff members including Domiciliary Care staff, senior carers and team leaders for its Domiciliary Care team in the New Year.
