It is a long time since I used to go to football matches at Wrexham Racecourse Ground with my dad back in the late fifties. Tim Mitchell wasn’t born then but he too has fond memories of exciting times at the Racecourse watching the likes of the mighty Arsenal humbled out of the FA Cup, Anderlecht embarrassed beyond belief in the European Cup Winners Cup and more recently a trip to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff supporting our team to success in the LDV Trophy.

Well! Nothing matches the trauma and excitement of the last few weeks, when our beloved Wrexham were very nearly thrown out of the Blue Square Premier League, with the almost inevitable result of liquidation of the famous club.

Due to the efforts of The Wrexham Supporters Trust, and incredible effort from fans old and young, the team lives to fight another day. Hopefully the takeover of the club will soon be complete and our clients – The Wrexham Supporters Trust – will be controlling Wrexham Football Club and leading them back to the good times.

For Tim and I, we are safe in the knowledge that our Saturday afternoons are spent relieving our frustrations at the Racecourse rather than spending precious hours on retail therapy. Come on the Town!!!!!!
