Launching their business seven years ago with the grand sum of £250 each and a vision to become a leading experience gift company some may have questioned how far their enthusiasm and small investment may have got them.

However, this year the Deeside based experience companies ‘treatme.net’ and ‘driveme.net’ have seen credible growth achieving a turnover of £4million across the two companies (an increase of 10% on last year). Their team at their Deeside offices has grown to almost 30 employees.

The Company directors Paul Evans, Allan Davies and Andy Davies, have created a strong business from their initial concept and yet aren’t complacent about their success.

“We’re in tough economic times, yet through a recipe of planning, vision and strong marketing we’ve continued to grow through the recession despite the fact that we’re selling ‘luxury goods’” commented Paul Evans, Sales & Marketing Director.

Paul puts the growth down to a combination of things. “We have a great team made up of strong individuals who all contribute to reaching our goals. We’ve also strengthened our customer offering adding a diverse range of varied experience days from retreats to a tree house in Snowdonia to trips on the Orient Express. We’ve focused on making it easier and more convenient for our customers to contact us through the launch of our live chat service too.”

Allan Davies, Financial Director added "As part of our business plan we decided to apply for planning permission to develop a £4million project to enhance the driving experience facilities at our Staffordshire site." After a lengthy 3 year process we secured planning permission and are now looking forward to the next phase of our business growth” Said Allan . “Next year will be an exciting time for us. We’re speaking with Investors about finance for the new development and there is real excitement about our future. The proposed enhancements to the Staffordshire site will mean we can facilitate more customers at our driveme.net experience days, not to mention being able to facilitate more corporate launches and events for the Motor Industry.”

The directors recognised that to secure their future vision they would need to enlist the help of specialist professional services. Treatme.net chose leading Chester law firm Hillyer McKeown as part of their team to help them through a planning application process and planning inquiry to obtain planning permission for their dream project at their Staffordshire driving experience site.

“It was important for us to work with a law firm that understood our objectives and felt as passionately about our project as we did. Having them on hand to advise us meant that we could focus on the day to day running of the businesses whilst feeling confident that Hillyer McKeown were running the legal side of the project” Said Allan.

Victoria Jones, Head of Commercial Property at Hillyer McKeown added “Working with the Directors of treatme.net is inspirational, they are all completely driven and focused on building their business. The planning process took commitment from 13 experts in their field and so much effort was put in by everyone involved, we were all therefore delighted when they obtained their planning permission. I was really pleased to be part of their team. However, the work is ongoing and we are now focusing on making their dream project a reality and are looking at funding options to hopefully commence development next year”.
