As I am sure you are aware, equestrianism is very popular in Cheshire and Warrington, both as a performance sport and a recreational activity for people of all ages. With the London 2012 Games and Paralympic Games coming to the UK, this brings with it the exciting prospect to further develop the equine industry and maximise the opportunities available to develop the county as a top UK destination for equine activity.
Hoof Cheshire has been created to actively encourage partnership working and overcome the current fragmented structure within the industry, collaborating to identify priority developments and other important functions to be determined by the sector itself. In so doing we are also very conscious of the need to avoid duplication of effort and the fact that future resources will be limited.
We would like to invite you to an initial networking event to learn more about Hoof Cheshire, and give us your feedback to help shape our work in the future.
We are delighted that international event rider and Olympic contender Oliver Townend has agreed to be an Ambassador for the Hoof Cheshire project, and he will be joining us on the evening.
One of Britain’s most successful dressage riders, Richard Davison will also give a speech on the evening, sharing his knowledge and excitement in the run up to 2012.
