Gareth Humphreys, managing partner and a personal injury solicitor at Walker Smith Way, is proud to take on the role of honorary solicitor at this year's National Eisteddfod for Wales Festival, which takes place in Wrexham from 30th July to 6th August.
Gareth, who is a native Welsh speaker based at Walker Smith Way's Wrexham and Chester offices, was approached by the committee of one of the world's greatest cultural festivals to step into the advisory role. He will use his experience and knowledge to offer legal advice to the event's organisers.
The National Eisteddfod is a Welsh-language cultural festival attracting 150,000 visitors during the week. The spectacular event is a mixture of music, visual arts and all kinds of activities for people of all ages. Walker Smith Way, is also involved as one of the festival's sponsors.
Said Gareth: "The Eisteddfod is a travelling festival which belongs to the people of Wales. The festival visits areas in north and south Wales alternately, and this is the first time Wrexham has hosted the National Eisteddfod since 1977, so it's a great boost to the area and an honour to be involved. Walker Smith Way recently joined the Welsh Language Board's 'Investing in Welsh - Cefnogi'r Gymraeg' campaign to promote their welsh language legal services, so it's great to support such a prestigious Welsh-language event "
Said Elfed Roberts, CEO of the Eisteddfod: "We're delighted that Gareth accepted our invitation to act as this year's honorary solicitor. We expect to attract over 150,000 people to the event, which is also celebrating 150 years in its current form this year. There's no doubt it will be a festival to be remembered in Wrexham."
