The final race meeting at Chester Racecourse is set to be a finale to beat all finales with a strong military presence to honour British troops, there will also be glamorous fashion shows and celebrities in attendance all creating the most exciting race meeting of the year.

Recognising the outstanding achievements of the Royal Welsh and Mercian regiments, Chester Racecourse has invited hundreds of soldiers from these divisions to celebrate the final day of racing on 25th September with a spectacular and jaw dropping finale.

Following on from the Queen’s visit in June, the racecourse has one again opened its doors to the soldiers and their families, issuing them with complementary tickets to enjoy a relaxing day with friends and family and to enjoy the ‘Chester Racing Experience’.

With the gates opening at 11.30am on Saturday 25th September for the Chester Finale, the day’s events will begin at 12.15pm with a sensational fashion show in the Parade Ring, brought to the racecourse by Chester Fashion Festival.

Six retailers from Chester will be showcasing their latest Autumnal collections including, Noa Noa, Jigsaw, Debenhams, Fenn Wright Manson, TM Lewin and Marks & Spencer.

Two further fashion shows will follow at 12.15pm and again at 3.15pm, with the final show being on the roof of the pavilion. Models will walk the catwalk high above race goers so that everyone will have a chance to see the show.

Following the initial fashion show there will be the dramatic, jaw dropping Parachute Display by the RAF Falcons at 1.15pm where 11 men from the parachute regiment will fall thousands of feet down onto the open course directly behind the Paddock Area. The regiment will then make their way into the Parade Ring where they will give a military salute before they end their display.

Adding to the glamour of the day will be guests from Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. Dressed in their finest and most fashionable outfits, race goers will be able to spot their favourite characters amongst the crowd and may even have the chance to have their picture taken with them.

Rob March, Head of Marketing and Communications for Chester Race Company said: “The 2010 racing season here at Chester Racecourse has been absolutely fantastic and by providing an action packed day on the 25th September, this is our way of thanking everyone who has joined us here at the course during the season.”
