Chester Racecourse hosted a glamorous ball at the weekend to raise funds in support of the Help for Heroes Campaign and Mercian Regiment Benevolent Fund.

Following a champagne reception the guests were drummed into the Racecourse’s Pavilion Suite for a three course dinner by the 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment drummers.  The evening’s entertainment continued with the talented Cheshire Police Band entertaining over 450 guests.

His Honour Judge Elgan Edwards, Honorary Recorder of Chester, commented ‘the event was excellent; it was a most successful evening.  Thank you to all our sponsors and guests for their generosity, particularly Chester Racecourse’.

The event was a great achievement raising a large amount of much needed funds for the two charities.

Chester Racecourse is offering two tattersalls tickets to serving military personnel for the Chester Finale this Saturday, 24th September.  Tickets must be collected from the box office with military identification card by 23rd September.

This Saturday’s race fixture is the final race meeting at Chester and promises to be a great day with music from the City of Chester Brass Band, the RAF Falcons parachute display team, and a fashion focus with spot prizes for the best dressed racegoers.
