Chester Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Carol Bennett as the full time Volunteer Learning Co-ordinator for the Club.

The post is being funded by the grant won by the Club from the Adult Community Learning Fund - Chester FC were one of 56 successful bidders from a total of 2,465 applications.  Carol will be leading the drive to improve and increase the Club's volunteering and to provide support and development opportunities for those who help the club in their spare time.

Blues Director, David Evans said, “Carol was an outstanding candidate in a very strong field.  We are delighted that she is on board.  She brings the dual benefits of being a lifelong fan of the Club and a great track record of working with volunteers to great effect.”

He went on to say, “Volunteering lies at the heart of the Club's ethos - we have only just begun our journey to realise the full potential of this Club on the field and off the field in the community.  Carol will be invaluable in helping us reach the next level.”

Carol will be seconded from her current role at West Cheshire College.  This will help the Club to build further valuable links with an important institution in the local community.

The post is full time until 31st March 2012 but the Club has an aspiration to raise funds to make it a permanent position.  The appointment was made by a panel comprising of David Evans, Chester FC, Mike Statham (CDHT Head of HR) and Clare Latham (CWAC Adult Learning Manager)
