Chester FC notched their seventh successive away win on Saturday after a 3-0 victory over Ossett Albion at the Warehouse Systems Stadium.

The Blues with a much changed line up following their 3-2 Cheshire Senior Cup defeat to Congleton, were dominant against their opponents who were reduced to ten men midway through the second half, but in truth the result was never in doubt from the moment Rob Hopley opened the scoring.

Even before Hopley's opener, Chester had chances to take the lead with strike force pair Michael Wilde and Kyle Wilson going close with headers.

Hopley it was though who got Chester off the mark, when he headed home Chris Williams' corner ten minutes before half time.

The Blues weren't finished for the half though, as they went close to a second with efforts from Antoni Sarcevic and captain George Horan.

Bradley Barnes then came up with a superb volley from Kyle Wilson's delightful cross to put Chester two up just ten minutes into the sedcond half, and that effectively ended the contest.

The home side were then reduced to ten men as striker Shane Kelsey appeared to kick out at Horan, and the red card was shown for violent conduct, whilst Horan picked up his fifth yellow card of the season for retaliating following the kick, and will now serve a one match suspension.

Chester now threw everything at Ossett but could not find a way through until injury time, when Wilde netted his 16th goal of the season with a low finish from Hopley's cross.

So, with Chorley & Witton dropping points, Chester now lead the pack by six points and go into next weekend's crunch encounter with second placed Skelmersdale United.
