A leading Chester-based commercial property agency has expanded its services in North Wales after merging with one of the region’s most respected firms.

Beresford Adams Commercial has strengthened its presence in the region by joining forces with established Rhyl-based agency Gareth Williams Commercial.

The merger will see the existing Rhyl office of Gareth Williams Commercial re-branded BA Commercial Gareth Williams, while Beresford Adams Commercial’s board of directors will expand from two to five members.

Existing directors Justin Rice-Jones and Fraser Crewe will be joined by Gareth Williams, who brings 42 years’ experience within the North Wales commercial property market to his new role. He will also be joined as a director by long-standing Beresford Adams Commercial staff Tom Creer and Ruth Fearnall.

Fraser Crewe said that the merger continues the agency’s growth in the busy North Wales market.

He said: “We already perform well in North Wales, and this merger allows us to strengthen our brand across the region.

“We’re very much looking forward to working with Gareth, who is incredibly well respected and has an excellent reputation across North Wales.

“Almost every board you see in the region is his, and we’re pleased to join forces with him.”

Fellow Beresford Adams Commercial director Justin Rice-Jones also welcomed the merger: “Gareth Williams has an unrivalled reputation in North Wales, and this is an excellent step forward for both of our agencies.

“I’ve known Gareth for many years, and am delighted to begin working with him.”

Founded in 1990, Gareth Williams Commercial is regarded as one of North Wales’ leading commercial property agents, with a portfolio of properties spanning all six North Wales counties.

Originally founded as a residential agency in the 1960s, Beresford Adams Commercial became independent in 1992 following a buyout led by Philip Beresford Adams and Justin Rice-Jones. The firm has since developed an enviable reputation across Cheshire, the North West and North Wales, and employs 20 members of staff from its offices on Grosvenor Street, Chester.

Gareth Williams welcomed the merger, which will allow his existing clients to benefit from an increased range of specialist services supplied by Beresford Adams Commercial.

He said: “I’ve known the team at Beresford Adams Commercial for a number of years, and am very close to them both professionally and personally.

“We will continue to offer the same level of local knowledge and expertise in the North Wales commercial property market to our customers, plus an increased range of services.

“Furthermore, the Beresford Adams Commercial team is keen to develop its portfolio in North Wales, and I will be able to assist them with my local contacts and understanding of the market.

“There is a great natural fusion between us, and I’m very much looking forward to working with my new fellow directors and the rest of the team.”

Gareth is joined as a director by long-standing Beresford Adams Commercial staff Ruth Fearnall and Tom Creer.

Ruth, a qualified chartered surveyor and specialist in commercial and rural estate management, joined Beresford Adams in 2006. Ruth is MRICS accredited, and her role involves heading up the firm’s property management department, with management instructions including the Gaerwen Industrial Estate on Anglesey and Bell Meadow Business Park, Chester.

A qualified chartered surveyor and RICS registered valuer Tom, who joined the agency in 2002, specialises in agency work while also undertaking property management, valuation and other professional work for Beresford Adams Commercial.

Tom acts for a wide variety of clients, ranging from local to institutional landlords, on behalf of single and multiple occupiers in all sectors of industrial, office and retail commercial property. He has extensive knowledge of the North Wales commercial property, where he is particularly active.
