TWO Chester companies are joining forces to help vulnerable families.

Childcare provider, Spinney Day Nursery and Château de Sable, the French children’s wear boutique, in Handbridge, are to hold a fashion show on May 20 at the Doubletree Hilton in Warrington Road, Hoole. Funds raised will go to Save the Family, a Cheshire-based charity helping families which have fallen on hard times stay together so children do not have to be taken into care.

Rhiannon Thomson, marketing director at the Spinney Day Nursery – which has branches in Hoole Village and Bell Meadow, said: “I am always keen to find innovative ways to promote our two nurseries. The idea of organising an event that would not only be an opportunity to promote Spinney and Château de Sable, but also the prospect to work with other companies within the Chester Business Community, whilst also supporting a local charity, was a key driver.

“By using the Charity Fashion show as a vehicle to demonstrate a proactive approach of businesses working together we now have numerous other Chester Businesses involved. Some are helping to organise the event by using their skills and business acumen, whilst others are providing their services such as thebestofchester members Doubletree Hilton who are providing the venue, and Print Angels who are printing the flyers and tickets.”

The event will involve a catwalk show of Chateau de Sable children’s clothes, as well as Caran D’ache women’s wear.

Rhiannon explained the idea for a fashion show came about after she met Chateau de Sable owner Janice Atlay though thebestofchester.

The fashion show, entitled ‘The Spirit of Cheshire’ will also feature a ‘Boutique Shopping Experience’ where local companies will display and sell products which complement the feel of the evening.

Rhiannon added: “The aim is to provide an enjoyable, luxurious evening where guests can view the Spring/Summer children’s wear and women’s wear collections, peruse the stalls for gifts, jewellery, accessories and beauty products, and all with a glass of wine or two.”

‘The Spirit of Cheshire’ charity fashion show will start at 7pm on Friday, May 20. Tickets, priced £15, are available from Spinney Day Nursery in Hoole Village, or Chateau de Sable in Handbridge, Chester. Online booking is also available at www.eventbrite.com/event/1390152985 (there is a £1.02 online booking fee).
