JETS BACK ON SKY

The Cheshire Jets are happy to announce that the BBL will be making a long awaited return to our screens this autumn after a deal was reached with Sky Sports, to screen the best of British basketball.

The Basketball League with their partner Televideo, the Sheffield based TV production made the announcement last week that the return of basketball to Sky TV will start on Tuesday 2nd November for the 2010/11 season. Jets Coach Paul Smith will also make his return to our satellite screens for the first “as live”. Coach Smith is commentating on the matchup between One Health Sheffield Sharks and last year’s championship winners Newcastle Eagles.

Coach Smith said;

“This deal is great for the league as it allows us to showcase the talent that each of the BBL teams possess. We are playing hard fast basketball week in week out and this partnership gives us the opportunity to show a whole new audience what British Basketball is all about. ”

The BBL's Chairman Paul Blake said,

 "We are delighted to be back on Sky, and look forward to a long term partnership. The BBL has a very exciting product, and we can guarantee the very best of British basketball action. Right from the opening game, featuring top side the One Health Sheffield Sharks and the BBL Championship winners, Newcastle Eagles, on Tuesday 2nd November 2010, we can promise fast and furious action right through to the BBL Championship Playoffs at the end of April 2011. We know from past experience there is a strong demand for the sport from the basketball loving TV viewers, and we looked forward to re-connecting with that fan base."
