North West charities can now benefit from expert business advice for the charity and not for profit sector, courtesy of a new department at Champion Accountants.

The Group Charities Division has been created to meet the growing demand for a specialist service and will be headed by charities specialist and Director at Champion, Stephen Robinson.

As part of Champion’s newly created Charities Team, Stephen will be working alongside four other charities specialists, all of whom are at Director or Partner level within the company. The team has over 25 years experience, with a number of core clients in the charity and not for profit sector. One team member is based at each of Champion’s five sites, offering a local presence to charities across the North West.

Stephen comments, “The creation of a specialist Charities division was a natural progression for Champion, following the launch of the Leisure division back in 2008. The charity sector represents a sizeable part of our business and the Charities Team members have been specially selected for their in-depth and specialist sector knowledge.”

He adds: “Some of the team also are Trustees of local charities, giving them an excellent practical standpoint when it comes to advising clients on Trusteeship issues. Both new and existing clients will benefit greatly from the team’s shared knowledge base and varied experience in this sector.”
